FOUNDATION
The Lewis Foundation is dedicated to providing vital support and comfort to all adults diagnosed with cancer in hospital settings across the Midlands. Founded in 2016, by Lorraine and husband Lee Lewis, their mission is deeply rooted in personal experience due to Lee’s mum being diagnosed with cancer.
BRINGING COMFORT & JOY TO CANCER PATIENTS
They were driven by the recognition of the physical and mental challenges faced by adult cancer patients during their hospital stays, to make the patient experience better. Through the initiative of gifting free gift packs and support, the charity aims to provide comfort and happiness amidst the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
Each gift pack is carefully curated to cater to the diverse needs of patients, containing essential items such as toiletries, journals, books, and skin cream with 29 to choose from. Volunteers also spend time with patients, providing companionship and a listening ear, alleviating feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Thank you so much for your kindness and being so thoughtful. My last stay was not planned and your lovely puzzle pack and adult dot to dot book made my stay go so much quicker. I love the fact that you take time out to do this but also speak to patients and their families.
